Jodie has spent over 15 years in the hospitality industry, a year travelling the world with many shorter stints of local and international travel, and has contributed to over 400 weddings in her career. She launched her business in 2018 and has felt privileged to grow her team since then into the family of hard-working and kind hearted women it is today. She feels that her team is one of her greatest achievements in her professional life.

She’s a huge plant nerd and has a minimum of 100 indoor plants at any given time, in addition to her ever-growing veggie garden. She loves to cook, preserve, ferment, and bake… but not as much as she loves to eat (except when she regularly forgets to eat on wedding days). She loves to go dancing, but never in heels, and she generally doesn’t fall asleep before midnight—nobody’s perfect.

I believe weddings are about people. Period. Everything else is a bonus.

Destinye has been organizing events and hosting gatherings since elementary school. In those early days, it involved a bit more construction paper and glue—but her passion for creating meaningful celebrations has never changed.

With over 20 years of experience in hospitality, Destinye understands just how valuable it is to have someone firmly in your corner during the wedding planning process. She listens deeply, leads with kindness, and manages every detail with care so you feel supported, confident, and genuinely looked after from beginning to end.

As your advocate, expert, and project manager, Destinye is committed to creating a wedding day that reflects you—your story, your values, and your vision—rather than following trends or templates.

She has lived in many different places, loves to travel, and volunteers annually with a scholarship program in Guatemala that helps under-resourced teens access education and break cycles of generational poverty. When she’s not working, you’ll most often find her spending time with her husband and three kids—her favourite people in the world. She loves being outdoors, but will always choose sleeping in her own bed if given the option.

Krystal MacMillan

(She/Her) Associate Coordinator

Krystal comes to us with some small business experience all of her own! When she isn’t hustling with her residential cleaning business Tidy Haven, she’s a loving wife and momma, passionately cheering on her daughter’s dance practises and competitions, as well as her son’s love of martial arts. Many of the Thistle & Thorne team members are lifelong friends of Krystal’s, and she has found a happy home within the T&T crew assisting weddings all over BC with excitement and a smile on her face.

Coral Coughlan

(She/Her) Associate Coordinator, Guest Experience Manager

Coral’s background in theatre design shapes her thoughtful, story-driven approach to wedding coordination. With a strong eye for detail and a calm, creative presence, she helps bring celebrations to life in ways that feel both seamless and personal. She’s always ready to jump in, untangle a challenge, and have a good laugh along the way.

Contessa McMath

(She/Her) Principal Wedding assistant

Contessa is a Sign Language Interpreter that loves working in a variety of settings and keeping every day a little bit different.
A bit of a romantic, she’s likely to tear up at the “I do’s” but then is always ready to jump in wherever needed to make the day as beautiful and memorable as possible.

Lauren joined the T&T crew in 2023 and has already made her mark as a stellar wedding assistant. She’s excited for the season ahead and ready for more adventures!

Camryn Watts

(She/Her) Wedding assistant

Camryn is someone who consistently strives to go above and beyond for those around her. She brings a strong work ethic, positive energy, and a welcoming presence to T&T. Currently just finishing her teaching degree, Camryn has developed strong skills in professionalism, organization, and the ability to problem-solve in the moment. Camryn has been with us since 2023 and she is always excited to continue supporting couples and being part of their special day.

Sullivan Hawk

(She/Her) Wedding assistant

Sullivan comes to T&T with a huge love for coffee, romantasy novels, and the outdoors! She is an assistant store manager for Starbucks where she’s become accustomed to taking things in stride, working under pressure, and motivating her team to execute a plan. Since working her first wedding in 2023, Sullivan has fallen in love with creating the most perfect day for our clients and truly bringing the vision to life while navigating any challenge that comes her way. She feels truly grateful to be a part of your special day!

Brittany Moroz

(she/Her) Lead wedding assistant

While Brit studied criminology in university, she also worked for non-profit organizations. Now holding a management role within Corrections in the administrative department, her experience working with offenders has allowed her to perform well under pressure. She’s personable, empathetic, and not afraid to tackle any problem that comes up on a wedding day. Brit loves seeing the connection that couples have, helping their wedding vision come to life, and watching the memories being created.

Megan Lennstrom

(She/Her) Wedding assistant

Megan absolutely loves helping couples bring their wedding vision to life! She holds a Graduate Certificate in Event Management from Algonquin College and has gained hands-on experience assisting with weddings, trade shows, fundraisers, and large-scale events. Megan has also worked alongside floral teams, helping create beautiful event florals and installations that add those extra special touches to a celebration. Known for her organization, creativity, and eye for detail, Megan loves supporting planners behind the scenes and making sure everything runs smoothly on the big day. Above all, she truly loves love and feels so lucky to help couples watch their special day come to life.

Kaide Tighe

After working a beautiful island summer wedding with Jodie, Kaide decided that he wanted to join her wonderful team at T&T. With over a decade in the hospitality industry he is always willing to go above and beyond to make every single event extraordinary. Kaide shares in the team ethos that all couples deserve to feel seen and supported on their special day.

Being a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Kaide believes all love stories deserves to be celebrated authentically. Their passion for creating meaningful, joyful and inclusive celebrations is what brought them to the T&T team. Whether he is coordinating timelines, assisting guests, supporting vendors or helping with the little moments behind the scenes, he is guaranteed to bring contagious golden retriever energy and radiant smiles to make your event truly memorable.

Throughout the whole process leading up to our event, Jodie brought her bubbly personality to all our chats and she was timely, professional, and kept us on track for a mainly DIY wedding. She gave us homework to make sure we got everything done on time which alleviated so much stress leading up to the day.

Jodie ran our rehearsal and timed out our long processional song to a tee so that everything lined up perfectly on the big day. After the rehearsal the father of the bride even said, "wow she knows what she's doing!".  Couldn't agree more.

Day of was a smooth as could be! Jodie and Lauren executed everything perfectly and we both felt completely stress free. We remember thinking afterwards, we didn't even know what was going on behind the scenes but just all of a sudden things just happened! We moved through the day- ceremony, to cocktail hour to reception without any hiccups. Without even knowing it - catering was all set up and serving canapés, chairs were moved, florals were set up and repurposed, a full second bar was created, decor was all set up, and so much more) - just like magic.

For my small wedding, I originally wasn’t planning on hiring a day-of-coordinator, but once I had finished all the planning and decor, I was left worrying about how the actual wedding day would go. I wanted to enjoy all my hard work so I reached out to Jodie from Thistle & Thorne after a friend recommended this company. My only regret is that I didn’t hire her sooner!

Her knowledge and suggestions were invaluable to fine tune my planning. On the actual day, there were so many obstacles that Jodie and her team were able to overcome and I was oblivious to them, she just took care of it.
